On the rolling hills of the small Finniss River wine-growing region, grapes ripen under great microclimatic influences. The wines of Salomon Estate reflect the particularity and uniqueness of this landscape. The Finniss River winegrowing region extends in the south of the Fleurieu Peninsula region, about 20 km southeast of Mc Laren Vale, in the state of South Australia. Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot spend between nine and eighteen months in small oak barrels. Salomon Estate was born in 1996 out of passions: First, out of Bert Salomon's love for the Finniss River landscape. Secondly, from his wife Gertrud Salomon's enjoyment of great red wines and thirdly, the passion of both of them to make their lives very varied. Salomon Estate and Salomon Undhof combine the old with the new world of wine. Bert and Gertrud Salomon complement their top-class Australian red wines with the most elegant white wines from primary rock terraces in Stein/Donau in Austria.
