In 2005, the brothers Aron and Martin, together with their father Hannes Candrian from Graubünden in Switzerland, bought a country house in the Priorat with 7 ha of land and named it Mas Cantrio, a play on words from "Candrian" and "Trio". The 3 ha of vineyards were planted with Garnacha vines. After hard work, 2/3 were plucked out and replanted to meet their quality expectations. The first harvest followed in 2009. Authentic, unique and natural. The minerality of the slate soils, the grape variety and the year should be optimally expressed! After a very exhausting, chaotic and turbulent development phase, the wine was named right after it: razzmatazz (= turbulent).
In collaboration with their good friend Cisco Aulèstia from Porrera, they have been able to produce many great wines over the years. In 2018, this allowed them to sell the finca. The idea was never just to strive for greatness, they are first and foremost about the joy and passion for wine. So not much changed, they are on site as always to do as much as possible from the beginning to the harvest and winemaking themselves.
