The Krutzler Winery is a family enterprise in the fifth generation. Hermann Krutzler bottled the first quality wines as early as 1966. Reinhold created the master blend, Perwolff, together with his father and brother, Erich, in the 1990s. The next generation is continuing this successful journey – Clemens Krutzler is slowly following in his father’s footsteps.
Today the grapes ripen in the unique geology of the Eisenberg on about 12 hectares of vineyard areas in Deutsch-Schützen and on the Eisenberg. The vineyards are all located in a south-southeast facing basin, surrounded by oak and pine forests. Mineral, ferruginous loam and slate soils are found in this microclimate and in wind-protected, Pannonian-influenced sites. This terroir, low yields and a long growing season produce wines with originality and character. But the winery no longer relies exclusively on single vineyards, but rather focuses on the interplay of premium fruit, consistent vineyard management and steady stylistics. Sustainable viticulture producing high-quality wine with a focus on ecological, economic, and social issues is thereby of great importance.
